Whats my favourite night out foundation?

If you’ve read my previous blog you know that the Hour Glass Vanish Steamless Finish Foundation Stick has been my ride or die for the past 5 years! I am very picky with my foundation as I am acne prone and my skin is super sensitive and of course like many others I dislike the texture and heavy feeling you sometimes get when you wear a thick foundation. As much as I love trying out new products and testing them out, with my foundation I am a creature of habit. But when I read reviews on the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation when it first came out, I of course had to give it a try it and put it to the ultimate test.

Will this be the one I give up my Hour Glass foundation for?

Answer is, no. I wouldn’t give it up but YES I did love it where its now a staple in my makeup kit.

Why I love it?

Reason why I love this as my night-out foundation is because it’s full coverage, lightweight foundation that covers all hyper pigmentation, scars, and acne giving me a beautiful flawless finish and an even skin tone!

You don’t need very much to get a full coverage look which I love! It’s super matte and long wear, and lasts pretty much until you wash it off! They also have a huge diversity in colour and shades so it’s super easy for you to match your skin tone.

I’ve noticed when I compare pictures of myself wearing both foundations in the evening, that the Huda Beauty Foundation photographs beautifully when compared to the Hour Glass one. I’ve noticed that I get a lot of flashback from the Hour Glass one.

What I don’t like ?

The only thing I don’t like about this foundation is that it has a drier, matte finish and can be very drying so it can start to crack around fine lines! To avoid that I always use an oil underneath which works for me since I have dry skin. I like using an oil underneath, currently I’ve been using FARSÁLI which helps make my foundation and also gives my skin enough hydration. Or you could also use a really great moisturizer underneath while you prep your skin.

I did also give the Huda Beauty primer a try and I was not a fan! It had a very strong scent and it did not help with the foundation. I actually noticed that the foundation cracked more with it. Check out my Favourite primer blog if you would like to know what I use! I also gave the brush they recommended with the foundation a try and I did really love it! It’s very soft and helps create a smooth finish. But I also have 3 other brushes that do the same thing so if you already have something similar at home. I wouldn’t recommend buying it. I switch between a brush and a beauty blender so if you’re someone who is all about that beauty blender life. It works just as well!

What shade am I?

I’m fairly tanned right now from my trip to Mexico so at the moment I wear shade Amaretti 310G. Which is for light medium skin tones with golden undertones.

Cost?

It’s CDN $54.00 at Sephora
